The primary functions of the Employment Security Department are to administer the unemployment benefits and tax system in Washington state, collect and report on labor-market information, and deliver employment services to job seekers and employers as a partner in the statewide WorkSource system.
Employment Security also oversees the Washington Service Corps (affiliated with AmeriCorps) and the Governor’s Committee on Disability Issues & Employment.
